Practice room



A trio for cello solo with visuals and multimedia. Premiered by Meaghan Burke at the Fidelio Competition.

In Practice Room (2008), an elaborate set of sound cues  provide the illusion of synchrony within the event score of a “trio for cello solo”. All three parts are performed by one single cellist (In the image, New York based cellist Meaghan Burke), two of which are successively filmed and projected. It conforms a meditation on the act of perception and the illusion of synchronicity
